Mrs. Henry's class at C.P. Lightfoot Elementary had an exciting time learning about Mexican Folk Art in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month! The students explored the vibrant colors and intricate designs of this beautiful art style, especially focusing on pottery and artwork. Afterward, they created their own folk art roosters through a fun directed drawing activity! So proud of their creativity!


High Five to Golden Elementary families for their amazing participation in the PTA Membership Drive contest! Huge congratulations to Mrs. Green’s and Mrs. Chu’s classes for winning the challenge and turning our Principal and Vice Principal into human ice cream sundaes! The entire school reached the PTA goal of 100% participation, so every class enjoyed ice cream sundaes before the big event! This success was made possible thanks to the incredible support from their positive parents and dedicated school staff.


Today, we’re sending out a big High Five to Julia, Gabriella, and Jenna! These awesome new additions to Perdew Elementary have already made such a positive impact on their team this school year. We’re so happy to have them as part of our school community!


Mrs. Schauer's Kindergarten class at East Heritage had a special celebration for Hispanic Heritage Month! They had a parent visit and read two amazing books— Super Torta! and Selena. The students loved learning about Selena and could even relate to her music. After story time, they got up and danced to one of her songs! Such a fun and memorable day honoring culture, music, and stories that connect us all.


Heritage Intermediate’s band concert last night was a huge success! The students did an incredible job, and the music was amazing. A big thank you to Mr. Peralta, their dedicated band director, for all his hard work with the students—it truly showed in their performance!

Mrs. Ponce de Leon’s 7th graders are giving a HUGE shoutout to their wonderful librarian, Mrs. Waite! They want to thank her for pouring so much energy into making their library the amazing space that it is on campus. Mrs. Waite takes the time to teach students how to be polite and make eye contact, and she challenges students to be better every day! Thank you for making Heritage Intermediate a FANTASTIC place to be!


Solorio Elementary is sending a huge high five to Mr. White for his dedication and hard work in maintaining their school! He may think no one notices all he does, but they do—each and every day. Students and staff look forward to seeing him, and he’s admired by many. Mr. White brings positive energy that lifts everyone’s spirits. He takes pride in his work, greets staff with a smile, and gives the best high fives to our students.

Ms. Shinn from Grapeland Elementary is nothing short of amazing, and today the Beitler family is giving her a well-deserved High Five! They are so grateful for all the love and support she gives, both in and out of the classroom. The Beitler family feels truly blessed to have her as Owen’s Kindergarten teacher this year!
