DWL is giving a big High Five to all of the students who participated in the Battle of the Books event this past weekend. Students spent months reading, preparing, and working together, and it was exciting to see their teamwork and love of books on display during the competition.
A special congratulations goes to the DWL students who placed. In the 4th/5th grade division, the Badgers team placed 5th with Lily C. and John W., and the Bats team earned 3rd place with Faith H. and Marianna N. (not pictured). In the 3rd grade division, the Hummingbirds team placed 5th with Aiden F. and Mikele F.

Today we’re celebrating our amazing crossing guards. Every day they help keep Etiwanda students safe as they arrive at and leave school, making sure they get to campus ready to learn. Thank you for looking out for our students and being such an important part of the school community.

High five to the students from Etiwanda High School who visited Grapeland Elementary to celebrate Read Across America! They spent time reading in classrooms and playing games with the Grizzlies during recess, showing a great example of giving back and being positive role models for students.

Ms. Ramirez is giving a high five to Mrs. Kwinn for doing an amazing job creating inclusive opportunities for students in the ACCESS and STARS special education programs. She goes out of her way to make every student feel welcomed and part of the school community. Her dedication sets a wonderful example, visible in how her class treats others around campus. Teachers like her make inclusion a priority every day, and Falcon Ridge is lucky to have her.

Mrs. Herrera’s class at Falcon Ridge enjoyed a special treat this week as Mrs. Lyons and Mr. Kooyman stopped by as guest readers, sharing stories and spending time with students while celebrating the joy of reading together.

Students at DW Long Elementary enjoyed a special visit from officers with the Fontana Police Department, who spent time reading with classes.

Lightfoot Elementary is celebrating a week full of reading fun, especially with their youngest learners in kindergarten. It’s always special when the principal joins the classroom to share a story—moments like these create memories that last a lifetime.

West Heritage welcomed special guest readers for their Read Across West event. From Board members to district administrators, students enjoyed reading, listening, and sharing stories together.
