Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to our 5th grade class at Cecilia Lucero Solorio Elementary School! My name is Mrs. Tanya Jenkins Broussard, and I am your child’s teacher. I look forward to working with my new students and families, and I am positive that our school year will be an exciting and productive one.

Just recently, I completed the thirtieth academic school year of my teaching career! I was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree from Tulane University of New Orleans, majoring in English Literature, and later received my teaching credential from California State University/ Dominguez Hills. Initially, I taught fifth grade for three years at a private school in my home town. My husband and I then relocated to Alhambra, California. There, I taught a third/fourth grade combination class for the first year and fourth grade for the next few years in the Pasadena Unified School District. Afterwards, my family and I moved to Rancho Cucamonga, and I am now approaching my twenty-third year of teaching grades four and five within the Etiwanda School District.
