I am in my 25th year of teaching.  I have taught grades K, 1, and 5.  I began my teaching career in the Pomona Unified School District in 2000, where I taught 5th grade for three years.  In 2003, I began teaching for the Etiwanda School District.  I am very familiar with this community, because I was raised in Etiwanda. It means so much to me to have made this complete circle and come back to teach in the district where I was raised and received my education.  I attended Summit Elementary School (now Summit Intermediate), Etiwanda Intermediate, and Etiwanda High School.

I received my Bachelors Degree from the University of La Verne and a Master's Degree in Education from the Claremont Graduate University. While continuing my education at the Claremont Graduate University, I was the recipient of the following awards: The B. Dade Davis and Helen Mohan Memorial Fellowship Award, The Barbara Greenwood Fellowship Award, and the Peter Lincoln Fellowship Award.

I married my college sweetheart Ryan. We have been married for 28 years and live in North Upland. We have two adult children, Ryan Jr. and Kaia. My daughter Kaia is a Kindergarten teacher at West Heritage Elementary School. In leisure, I enjoy traveling with my family, gardening and catching up with friends.

Past families that know me would let our new families know that teaching is not my job at all...I enjoy what I do, so I am not working at all. I enjoy what each day brings through my door. I teach because I inspire, I build, I challenge, and I care.

Mission For The Class

My mission for the class is to establish a developmentally age-appropriate classroom by encouraging emotional and social growth, allowing the students to be independent when necessary, and allowing their individual strengths to flourish.
