Mrs. Zollinger

Welcome to 7th Grade!

My name is Tara Zollinger and I will be your Language Arts/Social Studies teacher this year. EIS is an inspiring place to learn and work and I hope you will feel the same way.  I come from a family of teachers and I believe it is the best job in the world.  My mom, brother, niece, and husband are all teachers.  My husband is a high school Spanish teacher and we have two sons, one daughter-in-law, and a dog named Keeva.

I love to travel and visit new places. I also enjoy cooking, especially trying out unusual recipes on my family.  I am a huge soccer fan and I always watch the World Cup when it comes around.  Music is another one of my passions - I play the piano and the bagpipe, and I have a treasured collection of Beatles albums - yes, vinyl!

If you ask my family what I enjoy doing the most, they will tell you that I spend a lot of time with my nose in a book.  I have loved reading since I was very young and I try to help each one of my students develop an interest in books.  Our world can be fast-paced and heavy on technology; sometimes it's nice to slow down and get lost in a great story.

7th grade is going to be challenging, but I look forward to helping each of you reach your full potential as learners.  It's going to be a great year!
