Kara Gionet

I am so happy to be teaching in Etiwanda School District!  I was educated through Etiwanda School District and attended Lightfoot Elementary and Summit Intermediate.  After I graduated from California State University of San Bernardino, I taught English in Costa Rica and Oaxaca, Mexico. I also taught in the Ontario-Montclair School District before returning home to Etiwanda!

My favorite part of teaching is watching my students fall in love with learning.  This can manifest in many ways and be something as simple as finding a book they love to discovering the beauty in another culture.

In my free time I like to hike with my husband, my son, and my adopted dog, Louie!

Suggested Supply List

Our students are provided with the materials that are needed for instruction, but many parents and students find it helpful to purchase these items for class.  This is a suggested supply list and the purchase of these items is voluntary.

Regular Supply List:

  • Three-ring binder

  • 6 dividers for the binder (one for each class) and those with pockets are best.

  • Blank note cards to make flashcards

  • Pens (Blue, black, and red)

  • Pencils

  • Spiral notebook

  • Loose lined paper

  • 2 Low odor dry erase markers

  • Highlighter

  • Headphones/earbuds for testing

**Our school provides all students with the supplies they need for instruction in class; however, if you would like your child to have their own items instead of sharing items with a group, you may consider purchasing these items.

Additional:

The class as a whole will always benefit from donations of tissue boxes as well.

Thank you for your support!
