Angie Guski

Mrs. Prestage-Layman: 4th Grade

Hello! Thanks for stopping by my website. Here's a bit about me: I have a terrific, small but mighty family! My husband recently retired from LA County Sheriff's Department and our son works as an Audio/Visual and Production Assistant in the movie business. He also attended West Heritage and continued in the Etiwanda School District, so I've been on both sides! We're a dog, go camping, play board games, go kayaking, read a lot kind of family.

We have a one-stop shop for all things communication this year! This is the hot spot to find classroom information. Browse around - I'll be updating as time goes on. Rooms is where you can communicate with me. You an also access the Etiwanda webpage and West Heritage's page, all from one Etiwanda app!

I look forward to meeting you at Back to School Night on Friday, August 4th, 5:30 - 7:00 pm! I'm really looking forward to sharing your child's 4th-grade year together!

Sincerely,

Jeanette Prestage-Layman

8/14: I want to let you know that we'll be starting a new read-aloud book called "Wonder" next week. Many of you may be familiar with this book from the movie that came out a few years ago. The story is about a boy attending school for the first time after having had several surgeries for a condition he was born with. This book has many themes, such as compassion, understanding of differences, respect, bravery, and friendship. This book is not part of our core curriculum but I've found it really resonates with kids this age. I encourage you to read reviews on Goodreads or any other book review site. If you'd like your child to not listen to this book or participate in the class discussion, please let me know and I will offer an alternate reading opportunity for your child.

If you want to purchase school pictures, please return the envelope with the package you wish to purchase. Everyone will take photos. Please sign up for our 4th Grade Family Math Resource Night! It's going to be a lot of fun!
