I am so excited to be entering my 8th year of teaching. I have taught 5th grade for two years, substituted for two years, and taught 4th grade for three years, all at Lightfoot. Prior to teaching, I worked with children and adults with disabilities for 5 years. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Whittier College and a Teaching Credential from the University of La Verne. I am currently enrolled at UCSD to obtain a certificate in Gifted and Talented Education.
My family is very important to me. I have been married to my husband for 19 years and we have 3 children; Luke and Makayla are 16, and Emily is 13. We enjoy camping, hosting family events, and a good board game.
My biggest priority in my classroom is to make each student feel valued, instill a growth mindset, and teach the 4th grade standards with rigor. I have high expectations regarding quality of work and behavior. I am thrilled to be your 4th grade teacher for the 2023-2024 school year!
