Hello 4th & 5th grade families!

I am so excited to meet the new 4th graders, and just as excited to have the 5th graders again! Teaching 4th grade seems to be my calling as this will be the 3rd school I have taught 4th grade at. I am looking forward to working with my students and their families to create a classroom community where all students can feel welcome, comfortable, and thrive. I believe it takes a village to accomplish this and I am excited to work towards this with the support of the families.

Check this website and your Rooms app frequently to be kept informed on what is going on here at school. The Rooms app is a great way to keep in contact. I'll use it to send pictures, important information, and it has a convenient messaging aspect that is quicker than email. Make sure you download the app to have full access.

Think Central is the online platform for our GoMath curriculum. Students know how to log onto this using their school accounts to access many resources. iXL is another online platform that we use to support our math curriculum. It allows for extra practice and will give tips and explanations when a student answers incorrectly. Students will need to sign in using their school Clever account.

The "Resources & Help" link will give information on how to access extra help for the lessons through Think Central and also has some instructional videos found on YouTube linked for another option.

To practice and review our vocabulary terms, we mainly use Blooket which is accessible to them in their Google classroom accounts. Quizlet is another optional resource linked below that students may use to help them practice important vocabulary words for each chapter.

Wonders 4th Grade

You can access student textbooks and additional resources on the Wonders website which is called ConnectEd. Be sure you are logged into your student's district Google account (same username and password as used to log into Chromebooks). Go to the Etiwanda Links page and click ConnectED.

Why You Should Use the Wonders Website

ConnectEd is the Wonders website that houses all of the information you need to stay connected to what your child is learning and how they are progressing with reading instruction. ConnectEd provides access to stories we are reading, phonics, grammar, comprehension, and vocabulary skills we are working on, as well as the results of your student's most recent tests.
